Set on the Canterbury Plains, Christchurch is New Zealand’s garden city on the east coast of the South Island. Flat-bottomed punts glide on the Avon River, running through the city centre. On its banks are cycling paths, the green expanse of Hagley Park and the Christchurch Botanic Gardens. Our city Otautahi is better now than ever; the vibrant inner city is an ever evolving mix of old and new with many changes. Explore the town and celebrate the classic icons that remain. Why not come and see for yourself, and enjoy the changing landscape and riverfront restaurants and cafes.
